Located on the coast at the mouth of the Rimac River (which means “talking river” in Quechua), Lima was once known as the “pearl of the pacific” and now is the capital of the Republic of Peru. Pizarro founded the city of Lima on January 18, 1535, the day of the three Magi (or Kings), calling “The City of the Kings”.
It was named by UNESCO as Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity by the rich cultural legacy that we can appreciate in each one of its churches, museums, colonial buildings and archaeological remains known by its great cultural, artistic and historical value.
Lima offers to you a variety of places to visit, from its Historical Center to its modern infrastructures, without a doubt it is a great Metropolis.
- Location: Lima is located in the western central zone of the country. It is surrounded on the one hand by waters by the Pacific Ocean and on the other by the Mountain range of the Andes.

Extension: Its extension is of 33 820 kilometers square.

Population: Home to almost 30% of the national population. Its 7 million inhabitants make it almost seven times larger than Arequipa they inhabit almost 7 million people, almost a third of all the inhabitants of Peru.

Climate: An extremely humid climate with a yearly mean temperatur of 19°C (66°F). Skies are usually cloudy and gray except in the summer months of December to March. Although it does not rain, a light drizzle, or garúa, is common in winter.
Because of the high humidity and the permanents cloud cover, it feels quite cold in winter and hot in summer despite the relatively moderate range of temperature in Lima.
